The idea of a community canning kitchen is part of a developing ministry to foster good health in what we're calling 'healthy community' ministries.  The canning kitchen would provide a facility where neighbors could work together for the safe preserving of their garden produce or bulk produce purchased at a farmers market.  Growing a garden and canning are skills that are not being passed down to the younger generation and this facility, in connection with garden demonstration plots would give safe opportunity for young and old to learn.
